I’m Elizabeth Green, a children’s author with a passion for storytelling, bringing to life whimsical adventures and heartfelt tales for young readers.

“From an early age, I’ve always loved writing. My parents would tell you that I had (and still have) a very vivid imagination, and I try to channel that into creating stories that readers will love. English was my favourite subject at school, and when I wasn’t writing, I’d be tucked under my duvet with my nose in a book. The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, and Mallory Towers were some of my favourites—books that transported me to other worlds where anything was possible.”

When I was fourteen, I received the best Christmas present I could ever wish for—a typewriter. I loaded it with paper right away and started writing my first story, The Adventures of Detective Dopeyworth. Life eventually took over, and that story was tucked away in a drawer and forgotten for nearly forty years. It wasn’t until I was selling my parents’ home that I rediscovered the manuscript and decided it was time to share it with the world.

Now, I feel like my writing journey has truly begun. Alongside The Adventures of Detective Dopeyworth and its sequel The Mince Pie Mystery, I’ve written a series of beautifully illustrated owl picture books, sharing Clarence’s adventures of friendship and feelings. I hope this website inspires budding writers as I continue my author journey, sharing tips on writing, marketing, and connecting with the wonderful author community. I’d love to hear from you too!
